1. CATL proposal
The SEC supports the CATL proposal as presented to the Senate at its last meeting. It will be considered at Senate on Feb. 5.
A. Instructional Designer (ID)
Relative to questions raised in the Dec. 4 Senate discussion, Hoar reported Bob Hetzel’s assurances that the ID could have a flexible duty list, to include designing face-to-face as well as hybrid and online courses, while being paid via online fees.
B. Inclusive Excellence Coordinator (IEC)
Hoar explained that this person would be identified in the Spring and begin work at the position in the fall.
The SEC supports advertising the IEC position immediately, for a position to begin in the fall, pending budgetary feasibility.
2. Joint Planning and Budget Committee
Sandi Krajewski will be invited to fill the committee vacancy left by Betsy Morgan.
3. On-line SEI Taskforce
This committee will be established to investigate advantages and disadvantages to gathering SEIs online and to make a recommendation to the Senate. SEC chose the following committee members from volunteers, seeking representation from a range of colleges and types of expertise.

Jo Arney (CLS)
T.J. Brooks (CBA)
Victor Macias-Gonzalez (CLS)
Maggie McDermott (IAS in CBA)

SEC unanimously agreed to establish this ad hoc committee.

The Budget Council has been discussing various possible budget cuts as itemized on a spreadsheet titled “UW-La Crosse Budget Planning and Review FY 2009-2011.” These will be discussed at JPB tomorrow at 12:15 in the Student Senate chambers in Cartwright. Any concerns or comments should be e-mailed to Heim.
