Undergraduate Research Committee
November 14, 2000

The fourth meeting of the Fall Semester 2000 for the Undergraduate Research Committee began at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 14.

Present: Lloyd Bogart, Bonnie Bratina, Anne Galbraith, Aaron Monte, Rick Rodrick, and Colleen Miron.

Aaron announced that a grant-winner from last spring has submitted a substitute proposal to serve as a replacement to the failed proposal that was actually funded. The committee recommended that the student submit a budget, a letter from the faculty sponsor, and a more well-developed proposal within the next two weeks so that we can formally address this issue.

Rick indicated that seven students attended the round table discussion of grant-writing that was held the 6th at 6. These students came from a wide variety of departments and were, in many cases, representing groups of students to whom they would report. The possibility of doing another informational session early next spring was discussed.

The rest of the meeting was spent working on the drafts of web page material brought by various committee members. Aaron will spiff up the introduction, Bonnie will work on the checklist, and both will be e-mailed to Anne to be put on the web page and tweaked at the next meeting.

Meeting ended at 5:20 p.m. The next and final meeting of the semester is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28 at 4:15 p.m.
