Dan Duquette, Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
1. Approval of the minutes of October 29, 2001.
M/S/P to approve the minutes of October 29, 2001. (7 yes, 0 no)
2. Second Graduate Student grade appeal for Student "A". Student A's appeal was denied (5 yes, 0 no) at the October 12, 2001 meeting.
Steve Simpson gave a brief description of Student "A" with the Recreation Management Program. Steve also informed the council that Student "A" has a Graduate Project to complete and must maintain a 3.0. Diane Schumacher, Registrar, informed the council that Student "A" would need 11 credits of A, in order to obtain a 3.0.
The appeal was opened for discussion. Dan ask the council to vote on the following, “to inform Student "A" of the above information, and for Student "A" to make a decision if he/she wanted to continue with the appeal”.
M/S/P to approve. (6 yes, 0 no)
Student "A" was given this information and the student's decision is, not to continue with the appeal at this time.
3. Graduate Faculty Membership Application Review.
The Graduate Council did not have time to review all the files, and will
complete the review on December 10, 2001.
