The third meeting of the Spring Semester 2002 for the Undergraduate Research Committee began at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14.
Present: Bonnie Bratina, Beth Cherne, Carl Foster, Anne Galbraith, Bill Gresens, Jennifer Miskowski, Bob Ragan, Rick Rodrick, and guest CST460 student Emily Lawrence.
Beth Cherne is the newest member of the committee.
Jennifer announced that the brochure is at the printer and will likely be done in two weeks or less. J
There will be 56 students and 14 faculty attending NCUR from UW-L.
We have about $35,000 for undergraduate research grants.
The rest of the meeting concerned plans for the Celebration. Emily Lawrence presented the proposal from her student group indicating their plans for advertising the day's events. The committee was impressed!
Bonnie will be putting together the abstract book from the online submissions. She will make a table of contents so people can easily find their poster number. Someone will send an e-mail (Bonnie?) to all presenters informing them of their acceptance, to check a particular web site for the schedule, etiquette for oral presentations, and tear-down time for posters.
Bob will contact teaching faculty and staff to take requests for extra credit sign-up sheets. He will put together something for the Celebration.
Anne will make a big sign to set up on an easel in Cartwright to indicate the location of the poster session.
Other minor details were also fleshed out.
Meeting ended at 6:50 p.m.
