Minutes for August 31, 2005

Consultants: Dittman, Keller, Schumacher, Thill, Walls
1. Meeting called to order at 8:20 a.m. by convener Adrienne Loh.
2. M/S/P to elect Loh as committee chair.
3. M/S/P to rotate secretarial duties.
4. Committee reviewed this year’s charges from Faculty Senate and discussed student appeals procedures for the benefit of new members.
5. M/S to go into closed session to hear student appeals. By roll call vote, motion passed.
For each appeal, the standing motion is to approve the appeal.
6. Committee heard an appeal of academic ineligibility from a School of Education student:
XXX Denied 0-6-0 (One member arrived after vote)
7. Committee heard an appeal of academic ineligibility from a College of Business Administration student:
XXX Denied 0-6-0 (One member arrived after vote)
8. Committee discussed further the Faculty Senate charges and established meeting times for the semester.
9. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
