Meeting called to order at 1:07pm by Rob Dixon.

1.      Graduate student appeals

a.       Roll call vote to go into closed session

                                                              i.      Agarwal = yes, Angell = yes, Dixon = yes, Finch = yes, Kernozek = yes,  Thorman = yes, Taylor-Winfrey = yes

b.      Student VG from Microbiology Dept.

                                                              i.      student provided overview of appeal situation and answered Council questions

                                                            ii.      M/S/U (7-0) Council voted to readmit student to Graduate Studies within the Microbiology Program at UW-L in order to complete Option 2 of the remediation plan presented by the department

                                                          iii.      M/S/U (7-0) approve a minimum credit load for student to complete her program in fall 2009

c.       Student QF from Recreation Management therapeutic Recreation Dept.

                                                              i.      Student provided overview of appeal situation and answered Council questions

                                                            ii.      M/S/U (7-0) to readmit student to Graduate Studies within the Rec. Therapy Program

                                                          iii.      M/S/U (7-0) to allow student to retake REC 710 in spring 2010

                                                          iv.      M/S/U (7-0) to not count REC 710 taken in spring 2009 in CGPA for student

d.      Student JH from the MBA program

                                                              i.      M/S/U (7-0) to exempt student from TOEFL score minimum of 79 and be admitted to MBA program to begin study

2.      M/S/U (7-0) to come out of closed session
