Summer School 2013
In order to receive federal loans for summer school you
must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduates and 5
credits for graduates). Students who are Pell Grant eligible
may be eligible for a Pell Grant
in the summer even if they are below half-time.
Once your eligibility has been determined, you will receive an e-mail at your campus e-mail address, informing you that your financial aid award is available online. Follow the instructions for accepting your award. Failure to do so will result in your financial aid award being cancelled.
First-time borrowers receiving
Federal Direct Loans for the summer MUST complete a
Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (Direct Loan MPN).
If you are enrolled less than half-time and want aid for the summer session, you can apply for an alternative student loan. You must still complete the 2013 Application for Summer Financial Aid. The following alternative loans are available to students enrolled less than half-time:
Your financial aid application process must be completed prior to the
last day of Summer School classes. Therefore, it is advisable to apply
no later than July 23, 2013.
Federal Direct Loans received for the Summer will reduce your 2013-14 Federal Direct Loan eligibility for the academic year.
Summer financial aid will be disbursed on the first day of the first Summer School Session that you are registered for, if all necessary paperwork is completed.
