Federal Direct Loans
UW-La Crosse participates in the Direct Loan Program. With Direct Lending, the lender is the U.S. Department of Education; there are no banks or other financial institutions.
IMPORTANT: FIRST-TIME DIRECT LOAN BORROWERS MUST COMPLETE A NEW DIRECT LOAN MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE (Direct Loan MPN) at www.uwlax.edu/finaid/directmpn.html.
Parents who wish to borrow a Direct Parent PLUS Loan on behalf of their student who do not have a Direct Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (Direct PLUS MPN) on file, will be required to complete a Direct PLUS MPN.
All parents who wish to borrow a Direct Parent PLUS Loan MUST ALSO complete the Direct Parent PLUS Loan Request Form. Both are available at www.uwlax.edu/finaid/directplusloan.html.
