The typical summer financial aid award is Direct Loans in the amount equal to the cost of attendance.

The amount of Direct Loans you accept in the summer session is subtracted from the annual allowance of $20,500 and the remaining amount is offered for the academic year.

Direct Loans are not offered in summer the third summer since students are enrolled less than half-time. PLUS loans also require half-time enrollment, but private alternative loans are available to less than half-time students.
