The Wisconsin River
The Wisconsin River is the largest river in Wisconsin. Wisconsin River stretches 430 miles from Lac Vieux Desert on the Wisconsin-Michigan boundary in the north to Prairie du Chien in southwestern Wisconsin, where it empties into the Mississippi River. The lower 92 miles are free flowing, (no dams) very wide and contains numerous islands and sand bars. The river is heading west through Wisconsin's hill country and beautiful 300 to 400 foot bluffs can be seen on both sides of the river valley.
