The Office of Affirmative Action strives to foster and support a campus environment that is diverse and free of discrimination and harassment.  In order to achieve and maintain a collegial environment, the office provides leadership, counsel, and informational resources for diverse constituents, as well as the larger community.

McNair Scholars Program
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is federally funded by the United States Department of Education to provide eligible students with support and preparation for graduate school.  McNair Scholars must either be low-income, first-generation college students AND/OR be a member of a traditionally underrepresented group in their field (usually African American, Latino/a, Native American and/or Asian Pacific Islander). 

Multicultural Student Services
OMSS primary goals are to increase the undergraduate and graduate enrollments of U.S. underrepresented and disadvantaged students and to improve the quality of their educational and social experience and their graduation success.

Pride Center
Serving students and members of the campus community that may or may not label themselves as queer, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gay, intersex or questioning, their allies and students with LGBTQ parents.

Research Center for Cultural Diversity & Community Renewal
Develops and promotes a renewed vision for achieving a harmonious and socially just community through education.

Student Support Services
This program provides personal, academic and career support services to low income and first generation college students, as well as students with disabilities.   A federally funded TRIO program,  SSS  provides assistance to 350 eligible students each year.

Upward Bound
Upward Bound helps qualified area high school students find academic success in high school and prepare for success in college.
