Prototype Development Fund

 

The joint UW-System-WiSys Prototype Development Fund (PDF) program is administered through UW System to provide financial assistance for supporting research and development intended to advance the commercial potential of technologies developed through the UW System and assigned to WiSys Technology Foundation, Inc. WiSys is the designated patent management organization for the UW System's 11 comprehensive institutions. All grant proposals received are reviewed by WiSys and UW System on the basis of established evaluation guidelines.

The program offers one-year awards for up to $15,000. UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee researchers are not eligible. Intellectual property crated using PDF funding must be assigned to WiSys. Any funds awarded must be expended by the end of the fiscal year in which they were received.

    • For FY2014
      • deadline is rolling for FY2014
      • submit anytime throughout the year
      • absolute deadline: April 1, 2014
    • For FY2015
      • Dates to be announced in fall 2013
  • UW System submission process
    • submit electronically per RFP request and email a copy to grants@uwlax.edu
    • or mail two copies to address in RFP - must be received by due date - hard copy of final submitted version of the grant to 220 Morris
