Panhellenic Council

Every woman who joins a sorority becomes a member of the Panhellenic "family". It is Panhellenic that unites every sorority woman regardless of her individual affiliations. In addition to uniting sorority women, Panhellenic originated to strengthen personal and chapter values and to establish common goals. The following is the Panhellenic Creed by which our sororities abide:

"We, as undergraduate members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving to the best of our ability, our college and community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternit activities.

We, as fraternity women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live."

In addition, Panhellenic Council is the governing body of the sororities. At UW-L, the Council consists of two members from each of the two sororities as well as the Executive Board. The Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President of Scholarship, Vice President of Recruitment, Vice President of Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Director, and GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol) chair.

Panhellenic Council attends leadership workshops and conferences. Panhellenic Council also co-sponsors educational sessions, social activities, and philanthropy events with the Interfraternity Council. During the fall, Panhellenic Council, along with the two sororities, take part in a Philanthropy Event together.
