Human Resources News, Events, Information & Reminders
Summer Insurance Deduction Prepays Because of the recent increase in insurance premiums, the UW System has changed the way summer insurance deduction prepays will be taken for 9 month (academic pay basis) employees. Instead of taking all three additional deductions on the June 1 check, the additional deductions will be spread across three pay checks as indicated below. For more information, contact HR.
-
Most insurance programs, including State Group Health, will have one additional deduction from each the April 1, May 1, and June 1 checks.
-
Both the ICI and State Group Life deductions will have a unique deduction prepay schedule, taking one additional deduction May 1 and two additional deductions June 1.
Unclassified Leave Reports Unclassified employees who have past due leave reports from the 2011-2012 fiscal year have until Friday, August 10 to submit the missing reports to Human Resources. If you are unsure what reports you are missing, click here to learn about the feature in your My UW System Portal that shows you a list of your missing leave reports.
University Personnel System What is it? And what do you need to know about it? HR is hosting information sessions to inform employees about the new personnel system that will be put into place with the 2013-2014 fiscal year. Click here for information about UPS and the dates, times, and location of the information sessions.
Preventative Care Definition Changes to State Group Health Insurance uniform benefits effective January 1, 2012 have resulted in the need for a definition of what medical services are considered preventative care. Under all HMO plans and the standard plan, coinsurance will not be applied to preventative medical services when delivered by an in-network provider. This link provides a list of preventative services as defined under the US Dept of Health & Human Service's Affordable Care Act. These services must be covered at a minimum, but your health plan (Gundersen Lutheran or Health Traditions) may contact you with a list that applies more specifically to your plan.
