How many years have you been involved with the IMC! Program and in what capacity?
I have been involved with It Make$ Cents since the program was started in early 2012

Why is this program important to you?
IMC is important to me because of how helpful it can be to students.  Our only goal is to help students become better at managing their finances, and I love having the opportunity to be both helping and teaching students.

How has it helped you or changed your life in any way?
I have become a much more scrutinous spender since joining IMC.  I now look at areas where I wasted my money and cut them out, and have seen the benefits of using budgeting tools in my every day life.

Describe a time you had a financial hardship and how you got through it.
I have had a few experiences with financial hardship.  I have tried risky moves such as being a ticket broker on my own dollar, and have seen how starting up any company can be both expensive and difficult.  I was fortunate enough to make most of my investment back on the brokering, but I in the end count it as a learning experience.

Describe your favorite hobbies and activities.
My hobbies include basketball, baseball, football, paintball, volleyball, snowboarding, and any other ways I can stay active.  I also enjoy working on cars, motorcycles, listening to music, and traveling.

Describe something unique about yourself.

I have been involved with Minneapolis’s first pedicab company since it’s conception and am frequently in the Twin Cities riding around on the weekend.

Describe the program in one word and explain why you chose that word.
"Future." This program gives students a different insight towards taking control of their financial future.  By being able to be in control of their future planning and knowing what one has to do they can enjoy freedom that a person who let their finances get out of control can’t.

How many years have you been involved with the IMC! Program and in what capacity?
I have been involved in the IMC! Program since late March of 2013 where I have been a peer mentor.

Why is this program important to you?
This program is important to me because I get to do what I love doing, helping people make sure that they are prepared for their financial future.  With student debt now in the trillions of dollars it has never been more crucial to make sure you are on a sustainable path.

How has it helped you or changed your life in any way?
The program has helped my communication skills tremendously, especially in front of larger audiences.  It has also helped me gain a much wider base of knowledge when it comes to everyday financial topics.

Describe a time you had a financial hardship and how you got through it.
Fortunately I have never been on the brink of bankruptcy or anything like that, however while running my electronics business I did experience times where money was tight to say the least.  I always got through the situations by knowing where my money was, how much I had, and by developing a plan going forward.

Describe your favorite hobbies and activities.
My hobbies include basketball, football, hunting, fishing on occasion, riding mules (its ok you can laugh), as well as just hanging out with my friends.

Describe something about yourself.
I probably have the oldest bike on campus, it is a brown rusted Huffy 3-speed with a torn up seat.

Describe the program in one word and explain why you chose that word.
“Responsibility”, the reason I would describe it this way is because financial responsibility is the single most important thing to making sure that you achieve a stable financial future.
