UW-L's Symantec Anti-Virus is only licensed for installation on UW-L Staff and Faculty computers. This is not available for use by students at UW-L. Installation on other computers is a violation of the license agreement and is considered piracy. If you believe you currently have a virus on your computer, please do not try installing Symantec Endpoint Protection. If your computer is currently compromised, it is likely that the installation will not complete properly, thus exposing you to more exploits and potentially causing serious harm to your system. If you believe you have a virus on your computer, please use a free, online virus scanner before installing Symantec Anti-Virus. Although we do not support any anti-virus software other than the campus licensed version of Symantec Endpoint Protection, we recommend using an online scanner. We have listed a few selections below:
