Assistance with Your Personal Computer
The ITS Support Center can offer limited assistance with your personally owned computer. For most issues, we require an appointment before bringing in your computer. Please call us at 785-8774 for more information.
Before working on your computer, you must sign a liability waiver. We will do everything we can, but are not responsible for lost data or other problems you may encounter. No warranty of service is provided or implied.
Services we can provide:
- Installation of campus-supported anti-virus software
- Uninstallation of other anti-virus software
- Windows Updates (licensed O/S only)
- Passing Cisco NAC (Clean Access) network login checks
- Virus and spyware removal (We can provide basic efforts, but extensive problems involving virus and spyware removal may not be resolved. We do not guarantee we can fix every virus and spyware issue possible.)
- Troubleshooting of operating system problems, drive conflicts and similar issues
- System restores on Windows XP computers
- Registry edits to solve computer problems
- General review and suggested steps for items not listed above.
We cannot:
- Backup your personal data
- Reformat your computer
- Install software other than campus-licensed software such as Norton Anti-Virus
- Open the computer case and perform or assist with hardware replacement/repair.
- Other items not specifically listed above.
- Provide service to computers that have more than one anti-virus software package installed. Having more than one anti-virus solution can create multiple conflicts on a computer.
We reserve the right to refuse service at anytime.
You must be present while we work on your computer.
