What system recommendations does ITS make for using the enterprise
system?
I left the system running at my desk, but when I came back it wouldn't
work.
Who do I contact with username and password problems?
I get an "Internal System Error" when I enter my
Operator Number on a Macintosh.
Does Caps Lock still need to be on for the Enterprise System?
Yes, CAPS LOCK is still required within the new system.
Will I have to change my password on the Enterprise System?
Your password will still need to be changed every 60 days. If it is not
changed in less than 60 days since the last password change, your
password will
expire and need to be reset. This is identical to the Password Change
Policy of
the old system. Adding a reminder to your calendar every 30 days to use
PWCNG
should help ensure you do not let your password expire.
How do I change my password?
Use the trancode PWCNG to change your password. We
recommend changing your password at least every 30 days to avoid having
it
expire.
What Internet browser can I use to access the Enterprise System?
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer.
If I click the Back button I get a "Page Cannot be Displayed Error."
You need to empty your temporary internet files. Open Internet Explorer
and
from the Tools menu, choose Internet Options. Click the button which
reads
"Delete Files"; and delete your temporary files.
How do I log off the system?
Typing BYE in the trancode field will log you off the system; this
includes
any or all open windows connected to the system. You will also then need
to
close your web browser to completely exit the system. You will not be
able to
sign back in until you close your web browser.
How do I move between fields?
The TAB key can be used to move through the fields in
order, or the cursor can be moved directly to a field by clicking in the
field
with the mouse.
What system recommendations does ITS make for using the enterprise system?
The system requires that it is accessed using Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.5
or newer as a browser. ITS recommends either Microsoft Windows 2000 or
XP
Professional for use as your operating system. Windows 2000 and XP
Professional
are the most secure desktop environments. Also, we recommend that any
passwords
for any account on your computer (email, system logon, etc) are at least
eight
(8) characters long and consist of a combination of letters, numbers,
and
symbols. Never leave a password blank! Also, we recommend a screen
resolution of 1024 x 768.
I left the system running at my desk, but when I came back it wouldn't work.
If you do nothing in the new system for 120 minutes, you will
automatically be
logged out. This time out has been implemented for security reasons.
Simply
close the browser and then return to the sign in page to login.
Who do I contact with username and password problems?
If you are receiving login errors, please contact the ITS Support Center at 785-8774 or by email at itssupport@uwlax.edu
I get an "Internal System Error" when I enter my Operator Number on a Macintosh.
On a Macintosh, you will need to use the mouse to click the submit
button on the login screen. Pressing Enter on the login screen will give
you the internal system error message. All other screens function
correctly and you can either use the mouse to click submit or press the Enter key.
