Teaching and Research Interests: Modern German literature; the use of German short stories, culture and German perspectives in language acquisition.

Other interests: I enjoy meeting people and learning about new (to me) cultures and ideas; I therefore like to balance travel with extended stays in one place to get a feel for the pulse of everyday life. I have been passionate about music and reading since I was a boy and these pursuits keep me curious and enthused about life the longer I live. I hope to always be willing to try something new.

Recent Classes: I have taught most courses in our program, and though I do have my preferences, I try to make every class relevant and realistic for language learning.
