Carol’s Journey	Drama: Carol, 12-year-old Spanish-American girl from New York, travels with her mother to Spain at the height of the Civil War. Separated from her beloved father, Carol arrives in her mother's home village and transforms the secretive family environment. Colmena, la	Drama: As in the novel of the same title from Camilo Jose Cela, "La Colmena" is the story of many different people in the Madrid of 1942, just after the Spanish civil war. The main theme of the film is the contrast between the poets, surviving close to misery under Franco's regime, and the winners of the war, the emerging class of the people who make easy money with illegal business. Good Fight, the	Documentary: Spanish Civil War. Presents the experiences of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, using interviews with survivors more than 50 years later. First, the film sets the context with the rise of Fascism. Then, in 1936, Spain’s military revolts against the elected government, Volunteers snuck past border guards into Spain to fight with the Republicans. Veterans describe all they had to overcome. Grandfather, the	Drama: An elderly man returns to Spain after visiting the US during the Gold Rush and losing his fortune. He returns because his son has died leaving two daughters, and the son has left a note stating that one of the two is a bastard child. Habana Blues	Drama, music: Two young uban musicians, Ruy and Tito share the same dream : to become famous and finally leave Havana. Ruy lives with Caridad and their two children. El Laberinto del Fauno	In 1944 fascist Spain, a girl, fascinated with fairy-tales, is sent along with her pregnant mother to live with her new stepfather, a ruthless captain of the Spanish army. During the night, she meets a fairy who takes her to an old faun in the center of the labyrinth. He tells her she's a princess, but must prove her royalty by surviving three gruesome tasks. If she fails, she will never prove herself to be the the true princess and will never see her real father, the king, again.	Guillermo del Toro, 2006; 114 min.
Like Water for Chocolate	Tita and Pedro want to get married, but Tita has to take care of her ageing mother and is not allowed to marry. Pedro ends up marrying Tita's sister, but lets Tita know he only married her sister to be closer to her. Lorca, Muerte de un Poeta	Drama, biography : Film about the life of the poet of Granada, based on the reconstruction that the historian and hispanist Ian Gibson made out of it. Madeinusa	Madeinusa is a girl aged 14 with a sweet Indian face who lives in an isolated village in the Cordillera Blanca Mountain range of Peru. The Inca fortresses have survived many centuries of violent volcanic earthquakes; indeed, they have survived better than solid European-style colonial buildings. Soldados de Salamina	Drama: Professor and writer Lola Sánchez is assigned to write a column in the newspaper about the Spanish Civil War, she researches the shooting of Rafael Sánchez Mazas. Lola becomes intrigued about Rafael, who was a writer and journalist that returned to Spain, becoming advisor of the leader Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera. Rafael miraculously escaped from the shooting and was spared by an unknown soldier. Lola decides to write a book about the historic event. Based on the novel by Javier Cercas. Las 13 Rosas	Drama: Commences in 1939 Madrid. Unrest and extreme distrust run rampant among the nationalists overtaking the government.
