Who we are
President: Roberto De La Riva
Hello! My name is Roberto de la Riva and I will be a Junior this year at UWL. I was elected as president for the 2007/2008 school year. I am really looking forward to establishing new ideas within L.A.S.O and bringing in fun events for UWL and the La Crosse community. My major is Spanish with a minor in International Business. I will be studying abroad senior year somewhere in Spain, I have not decided on the city yet. My hobbies include snowboarding, fishing, hiking, rock climbing and cycling. On the side I will also be working at the rock gym in Recreational Eagle Center. This is where I spend most of my time, so if you want to find me I will most likely be at that location. Looking forward to meeting you!
Saludos!

Hello all, I am excited to be the events coordinator for this year. It is my hope and expectation that we are going to be bringing a variety of events that can be enjoyed by everyone in some way. With every event we bring we will promote the values and ideals of the Latin American Student Organization.
Secretary/Treasurer: Janelli Valdez
Hello I’m very happy to be this years Latin American Student Organization's senator and represent Latin American Students by being their voice in the Student Government. I am hoping that this year LASO will improve upon the accomplishments of last year and it is my hope that excel in everything that our group strives for.

Welcome
to LASO! This will be my third year as LASO advisor and I can assure
you that it is a great organization on the UWL campus! I work for
the Office of Multicultural Student Services as the Director of the
Academic Success Institute. Previously I was a Spanish teacher for
16 years at two schools in Viroqua, Wisconsin. In addition, I
coordinate a human rights project in a returned refugee village in
Guatemala so I have the opportunity to travel once or twice a year
to visit the community and take interested people along. I feel very
connected to Latin America and to Latino and Latin American issues
and look forward to another great year working with LASO here at
UW-La Crosse!
