Student Learning Outcomes

The Division of Student Development & Academic Services believes that the entire campus contributes to student learning.  As a division we value both the learning itself and the assessment of the learning.  Each department in the division has identified learning outcomes associated with their core function and monitors individual learning of the students who interact with these programs.  Our Division's Student Learning Committee is charged with identifying and assessing student learning outcomes associated with the division and to identify opportunities to collaborate with our academic partners.

Division Value:

Student Learning– we believe learning is a life long developmental process. We create opportunities in a safe environment for students to explore and develop skills and experiences that assist them as they become competent, skilled, caring, successful, contributing members of our global society. We view student learning holistically. Thus we seek to both challenge and support students in all dimensions of their growth: intellectual, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, occupational, and ethical.

Committee Charge:

The Student Learning Committee is charged with identifying and assessing student learning outcomes associated with the division of Student Development and Academic Services. The Committee should then analyze methods for assessing these learning outcomes and make recommendations to the division directors and the dean of students. Recommendations should address student learning in a holistic perspective and reflect the values of the division.
