Toland Theatre Seat Campaign ~ Theatre-Goers Urged to Take a Seat!
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts proudly announces its Toland Theatre Seat Campaign. This is an opportunity for individual theatre-goers, companies, clubs, and trusts to purchase a seat in the Toland Theatre located in the UW-La Crosse Center for the Arts. The goal is to raise nearly $100,000 with all proceeds going to restore, refurbish and upgrade the 30-year-old seats in the theatre.
With a tax-deductible gift of $250, you can support the arts in our community and create a lasting memento by personalizing a seat (or more) to a loved one, friend, company, or UW-L theatre student or alumni! The choice is yours. An engraved brass plate (4 lines of inscription!) will be permanently affixed to the seat, bearing the name of the person, family or business being honored.
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Toland Theatre has been setting the stage for entertaining, thought-provoking, brilliant live theatre for over 35 years. During that time, an estimated 200,000 people have sat in these seats to enjoy such classics as A Christmas Carol, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Agnes of God, The Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar, Driving Miss Daisy, Grease, Big River, Hair, and Much Ado About Nothing just to name a few. Your participation in the Toland Theatre Seat Campaign will literally create “the best seats in the house” for future generations of audiences to enjoy the magic of live entertainment.
Billy Clow, Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts, has written a letter to the friends of Toland Theatre. Please take a moment to consider contributing to this cause. We urge you to take a seat!
To make a contribution to the Toland Theatre Seat Campaign or for more information, contact the UW-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts at (608) 785-6706. You may also send your tax deductible contribution (personal checks, MasterCard and Visa accepted) to Toland Theatre Seat Campaign, 154 Center for the Arts, 1725 State Street, La Crosse, WI 54601 along with your name, address, phone number and dedication inscription.
Fundraising Submittal Guidelines
If you know of a fundraising campaign in the College of Liberal Studies, or if you are heading one, please let us know! We'd love to feature your goals and activities so that people may find more information on the cause and how to donate.
The following information, if available, should be submitted:
- Title of the fundraising effort
- Content, including an article or goals of the project and a timeline for the activity, if applicable
- Any available photos or links
- Contact information for donations
- Approval from the UW-L Foundation for Department or College-based fundraising
efforts.
Submissions should pertain to fundraising activities that relate to the College of Liberal Studies, or those which relate to the University or community as a whole and have a special emphasis on CLS. This includes fundraising activities by student groups, departments or community members, as they pertain to CLS.
If approved, fundraising activities will be posted within 3 business days of receipt, sooner if possible. They will be posted until the conclusion of the activity; the fundraising goals have been met; or until removal is otherwise determined appropriate. When the goals of a fundraising activity have been successfully met, please let us know so we can showcase the success of your cause in a news feature!
