UW-L Revives Popular Parochial School Spoof for SummerStage 2007
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts proudly presents the SummerStage 2007 musical comedy, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? This coming-of-age story follows eight friends from the start of Catholic elementary school through the senior prom and beyond. Full of songs that tickle the funny bone, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? is sure to please both Catholic and Public alike. Performances take place June 29-30 and July 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. and July 1 and 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland Theatre in the Center for the Arts at the corner of 16th and Vine Streets.
A good-natured comic jab at Catholic School this fun-filled musical recounts the hilarious trials and tribulations of a group of clumsy Catholic school students, as they deal with First Communion, sex education, a ruler-wielding nun, and all the awkward horrors of growing up. Teaming with sprightly songs and side-splitting scenes, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? is back by popular demand on the Toland stage this summer. Don’t miss it!
Tickets for Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? go on sale Monday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. The box office is located in the lobby of the UW-L Center for the Arts on the corner of 16th and Vine Streets. Tickets are $14 for the general public, $12 for non-UW-L students and senior citizens, and $7 for UW-L students with valid student identification.
