Exceptional Opportunities
The school, through its four departments (Art, Communication Studies, Music and Theatre Arts), offers students two valuable types of educational experiences. The school offers students knowledge that challenges them to comprehend their world by understanding the human condition as it is conveyed through artistic and communicative endeavors. The school also offers students opportunities for and instruction in the expression of their own values by developing creative skills.
Students learn by doing, So each of the four departments offers hands-on experiences leading to creative student output, something that is hard to duplicate at larger universities. Through the curriculum, students learn the potential of individual media as avenues of communication to the global community. The school emphasizes diversity of knowledge by providing instruction in methods of inquiry and expression that can be developed and used by students within their disciplines and in the context of becoming world citizens.
