My Advice to a New Math 175 Student:

The biggest thing I could emphasis to a new student is do the homework and do not miss lecture.  The reviews at the end of the chapters are key to helping you pull things together.  They are not assigned but they are key to understanding the major points of each chapter.  The review sessions if made available are great tools too.  Consider them part of your class.  It is always good to hear other way of approaching a problem.  If possible try to study in groups.  Talk to the people next to you and meet the night before tests and quizzes to work through problems together.
