My Advice to a New Math 175 Student:

Applied Calculus is not a hard class if you study and do the homework. The homework should be done every night because you DO need the practice. I slacked on the homework at the beginning of the semester but now I attempt it every night. This has brought my grade up tremendously! What I found that works is do the problems that are hard, because that will prepare you better for the test. The test doesnít consist of just easy problems. I also study with a class member every Wednesday for the upcoming quiz or test. This helps me sort out any last minute questions.

When in class I take down as many example problems as I can because I learn by example. He goes over a lot of problems so write them down they will help you. It sounds like a lot of work but it really isnít, just work at it, ask questions and you should be fine.

Sincerely,

Pamela, Accounting Major
