Does art help develop a call to action for social justice? I am using posters that focus on specific social injustices to help simplify calculation of the results.

Biography

Dewayne Wrencher is an art major, minoring in business administration. After his graduation in Spring 2014, Dewayne plans on continuing his education in art history and business in graduate school. He will further his understanding in how art can play a significant role in determining our tolerance for social injustice. His campus and community involvement include the following:

  • Awareness Through Performance (Writer and performer)
  • Call to Action: Respectfulness & Civility Presentation (Invited to co-present with Dorothy Her)
  • Widening the Circle Conference (Grass Roots Community Organizing Presentation) Invited to co-present with Dorothy Her
  • Office of Multicultural Student Services Retreat (Invited Presenter)
Dewayne likes to draw, listen to soul music, eat delicious food, read poetry, have deep conversations with friends, and to spend time with the people that he loves.
