Research Interests:

Currently I am working on a project exploring liver and spleen histopathology of northern pike from northern lakes of Wisconsin after methylmercury exposure. In the future I hope to investigate aspects of natural wildlife management and conservation by studying large mammals in particular.

Biography

Liza Walleser, a Biology major graduating in May 2010, plans to pursue a graduate degree in wildlife ecology. She has completed several research projects while at UW-L, has recently studied abroad in Australia, and is also an avid volunteer with at the Myrick Hixon Ecopark. She currently is working with Dr. Mark Sandheinrich in the biology department, researching northern pike from the Great Lakes region following methylmercury exposure.
