Biography

My name is Sara Erickson. My major is Geography with a Concentration in Environmental Science and my minor is Biology. I am anticipating graduating in May of 2012. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school at either the University of Wisconsin-Madison or the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I am not positive on what I want to earn my Master's in, but I am thinking something along the lines of Environmental Science, Wildlife Ecology or Geographic Information Systems, perhaps a combination of the three! My faculty mentors are Dr. Colin Belby and Dr. Ryan Perroy; they are both in the Geography/Earth Science Department. For my research, I am going to be conducting an analysis on the La Crosse River Marsh. I am going to measure the spatial distribution of lead contaminants left from an old gun club previously located on the shores of the marsh. On campus I am currently involved in Geography Club and the McNair Scholars; I plan to get involved more once I have more time!
