Certificate Program: Prerequisites
The Medical Dosimetry program requires that applicants either have completed the following when they apply, or have a plan to complete the following courses and other prerequisites prior to summer semester before enrollment. Though many of the prerequisites are science courses, there is a not a required undergraduate major. Many applicants have biology, physics, chemistry, math, or health professions majors; however, the program has enrolled students that have graduated with a wide variety of other majors. Comparable courses from other accredited institutions are also acceptable.
Current Certificate Program:
- Applicant must be:
- Track 1
- a registered radiation therapist; or
- Track 1
- Track 2
- working "on-the-job training" in medical dosimetry.
- Students for whom English is a second language must earn a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) within two years of application to the program.
- As this is an online program, applicants must meet the program computer requirements which is part of the application materials.

GPA:
We require a minimum cumulative GPA
on all post-high school courses of 2.5, calculated on a 4-point scale.
A minimum science GPA of 2.7 is also required.
NOTE: tThe certificate program will be increasing in length for the Fall of 2010. It will be approximately 16 months in length and will no longer accept non-RTT applicants. This certificate option will be available for RTT professionals that are seeking certificate program options only. See pre-requisite changes here.

Admission Requirements
- Applicant must have an earned baccalaureate degree:
- A degree in radiation therapy, physics, radiologic sciences, math, computers, or other areas approved by the program
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0; Overall GPA of 3.0 on prerequisite coursework
- Minimum of 40 hours of documented medical dosimetry observation
- Prior documented experience working with patients in a healthcare environment
- Completed program and Graduate school application with three letters of reference
- Interviews with program director and adjunct faculty at clinical internship sites
- Completion of computer eligibility requirements
