EFN 205 Student information

Fall 2012

I am very pleased that you are considering volunteering with our pre-college programs. Currently you can choose from 7 different options through our office. Each of these options will provide you the opportunity to work directly with a multicultural student after school or in the early evening (see application form).

Before going further….

It is important that you realize our tutoring programs require a commitment from you to meet each week with your assigned student(s) for approximately 2 ½ hours (volunteers at each site will meet as a group/community in a designated place on a consistent day of the week and time—see application). Most programs will meet nine or ten times this semester (ending the first week of December). As a result, if you decide to volunteer with us, you will be committing to a total of approximately 25 hours, or more, depending on whether you will need to travel to and from site (we provide transportation to off-campus sites--see application).

We have created this application form in order to provide you the important details for each of the seven options—day of week, time, the ages and background of students you will tutor, and the date of the orientation session for the option/program you select. Simply check our schedule of tutoring options against your schedule and your area of interest. Then, sign up for your top 3 choices.

Please note that the due date for submitting your application forms is Friday, September 21st!! We will make every effort to assign you to your first or second choice, based on available openings. Please consider submitting your application early.

Thank you for considering this option. We believe that you can make a difference!
