PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Dr. Ned Reese is
the Program Manager of the
M/D Pre-College Programs at UW-La Crosse. He
has been an educator, coach and mentor to young people for 34
years and has planned and implemented cross-cultural education
programs at UW-L since 1985. During his time as coordinator of
pre-college programs Dr. Reese has overseen diverse,
multifaceted programming--including weekly academic year
tutoring and enrichment sessions, summer reading programs at
local libraries, and the Mississippi River Adventure residential
summer and winter camps. Before serving as pre-college manager,
Dr. Reese served as Assistant Director of the Upward Bound
Program at UW-L from 1985-1987. Dr. Reese has also periodically
taught Racial and Ethnic Studies 100 classes at UW-L since 1992.
He and wife Wanda Owen-Reese have five daughters.
Kate Oganowski
is Outreach Specialist for the Pre-College Programs. Kate
oversees three academic year sites that serve approximately 180
youth and trains/supervises the nearly 135 staff and volunteers
who mentor/tutor for our programs. She has also planned and
implemented the SMART program, Summer Mentoring, Adventures
and Reading Together, since 2006. Kate has worked in various
capacities with the UW-L Pre-College Programs since 1999,
starting as an undergraduate education major. She has a
bachelor’s degree in education and a Master’s degree in Student
Affairs Administration.
The mother of a middle school daughter, she is active in
various other elements of the community and committed to helping
youth find their way through life.
Guy Wolf, Senior
Student Services Coordinator within OMSS, serves as curriculum
specialist and administrator of the Mississippi River Adventure
Summer camps. Guy has a Master Degree in Marriage and Family
Therapy, and has been a community activist for approximately
thirty years. Mr. Wolf has organized and supported numerous
grassroots citizen environmental groups, and serves as co-chair
of the Seven City Downriver Alliance. He has assisted
indigenous people in a five state region in organizing for
environmental justice. Among other duties, Guy also serves as
advisor for the Native American Student Association and
Progressive Student Organization on campus and teaches various
Environmental Studies and graduate level diversity classes at
UW-L. Guy and wife Joan have raised seven children including
several “walk-ons” who have been welcomed as family members into
their home over the years.
