Many organic farms exist in the U.S., and some of these can be found within a sixty-mile radius of La Crosse, WI. One of these farms in particular, Featherstone Farm, is a 20-acre organic produce farm located 40 miles west of La Crosse in the Wiscoy Valley. At Featherstone, the workers strive to maintain a consistent use of the organic farming practices as described earlier.

Featherstone’s mission statemAuthors working the greenhouse at Featherstone Farment is the following: “Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that the freshest, best tasting, and most nutritious fruits and vegetables come from sustainable systems that consider the strength and value of all elements of those systems. We are delighted to offer an alternative to petrochemical-based industrial agriculture. Our farm is an attempt to create an organic, locally rooted, alternative to this industry; a farm and farmers folks can get to know and trust.” To learn more about this local farm, please look at their website at www.featherstonefarm.com.
