UW-L Campus Libraries

The primary library at UW-L is Murphy Library, which also administers the Area Research Center and the Alice Hagar Curriculum Resource Center.

The Institute for Latino/a and Latin American Studies
  • Location: History Department, 403K Wimberly Hall

  • Collection description: houses the Institute's pedagogical collections, journals, and a small library of materials on Latin American and Chicano literature. The Institute's video library, with over 40 titles, is available to ILLAS associates and their classes.


Marian D. Hammes Early Childhood Center

  • Location: 115 Morris Hall

  • Collection description: contains a library of books, journals, kits, activities, toys to use with young children, which are available for use not only by students but also Early Childhood Educators in the community.
 

Music Listening Lab

  • Location: Room 145 Center for the Arts Bldg

  • Collection description: Listening Lab collection contains anything from Classical, Jazz, to Modern Rock. We a have Multi-media collection that includes: Albums, Compact Disc, Cassettes, VHS tapes, DVD’s, and Musical Scores.


The Rhea Pederson Reading Center

  • Location: 335 Morris Hall

  • Collection description: includes professional journals, current professional books, basal readers, literacy assessments, children’s literature and adolescent literature. A work-study student serves as the librarian for the reading center collection.


The Women's Resource Center & WRC Collections

  • Location: videos are available in 423 Wimberly Hall;  books are in 306 Wimberly -- both available for checkout

  • Collection description: contains a small circulating library of books, periodicals, posters, and videos, plus information and brochures. A listing of videos is available.
