The Second Annual
A
Celebration of Campus Authors:
Established Book Authors
Sponsored by Murphy Library and the Provost's Office
The UW-La Crosse Celebration of Campus Authors is an opportunity for the campus community to explore and enjoy books published by campus authors from all disciplines. The celebration consists of several parts:
- Reception: Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in
Murphy Library Special Collections. Open to all.
- Archival Web site: Each book will have
a web page that provides bibliographic information, book
cover image, and author descriptions.
- Library Display: After the reception, the books will be on display for a few weeks in a prominent area within the library.
Visit the 2008/09 Celebration of Campus Authors web site to learn about last year's program.
Call to Participate
Two or More Books
This year we plan to honor people who have published two or more books.
Have you written two or more books? If so, please consider displaying your works and participating in UW-L’s second Celebration of Campus Authors reception!
Who may participate?
Any UW-L faculty and staff who have authored, co-authored, compiled, edited/co-edited, translated, or illustrated two or more monographs that were published by a commercial, university, small press or other publisher (not self-published) are welcome to participate.
The reception will be open to all.
What do participants agree to do?
- Provide the library, by December 18, 2009, with at least one copy
of each of your published books. The book swill be returned
to you after the event, unless you wish to donate them to
the library. If the library already has copies of your book,
we still need additional copies just for the Celebration.
- Please attend the reception. It is not required for
authors to be present during the reception, but we ask that
participants make every effort to be there. The Celebration
reception centers on giving faculty and staff an opportunity
to acquaint themselves with each other’s works, to exchange
ideas, and to discuss publishing experiences, so we are
seeking broad participation.
