Wisconsiana
This collection of over 5000 volumes consists of
non-fiction works on state or local topics in Wisconsin.
Many of these works are histories of Wisconsin towns,
villages, and communities. The La Crosse area is
especially well represented. There are, for example,
complete sets of La Crosse city and telephone
directories, as well as church and organization
histories, maps, Sanborn atlases, company histories, and
pamphlets.
The map collection includes nearly 500 maps, most of
them relating to Wisconsin and the midwest, and most
dating after 1830.
Supplementing these catalogued titles are files on La
Crosse architecture, portraits, and biographies.
