Research Consultations

Murphy Library Research Consultations provide an opportunity for individual library users to get in-depth, advanced help with a specific research need.  The service is intended primarily for juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty and staff who have already completed the basic research and are now either "stuck" or who want to discuss strategies for further exploration.

GO! Use this form to set up a research consultation with a librarian. The following guidelines apply:

  1. Please allow a minimum of 2 days from the time of your request until a meeting is scheduled.

  2. We will try to accommodate your schedule within the weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  3. Sessions will last 15 - 30 minutes.

  4. Sessions will usually be held in the library, but arrangements can be made to meet in faculty/staff offices.

STOP! The following restrictions apply:

  1. You must have a topic clearly defined

  2. You must be able to specify what you have already found and where you have already looked.

  3. This service is for UW-L students and employees only.

  4. This service is not designed to answer to basic questions. Contact the Reference Desk instead (785-8508).
