moved back to Loa Angeles. Involved in gangs since age 11.
Notable works: Poems Across the Pavement (1989), The
Concrete River (1991), Trochemoche (1998), América Is Her
Name (1998).
Founder of Tía Chucha Press, which publishes emerging, socially
