Omar Castañeda

Guatemalan-American

(b.1954 d.1997), Castañeda grew up in Indiana and Michigan and was the son of a prominent Indiana University philosopher.

Castaneda received acclaim as a fiction writer for children, young adults, and adults.

Publications: Cunuman (1987), Among the Volcanoes (1991), Abuela’s Weave (1993), Remembering to Say Mouth or Face (1993), Imagining Isabel (1994), and Naranjo the Muse: a Collection of Stories (1997).
