The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse purchases many  electronically based information resources. These resources always involve software licenses, copyright restrictions, and other contractual agreements which require them to be restricted to a specific group. This group is often University of Wisconsin-La Crosse faculty, staff and students only.

If you come to the library or use a computer on campus via the campus LAN, you are considered a valid library patron. However, if you are currently affiliated with UW-La Crosse, but you use a different Internet Service Provider (ISP) or you are currently accessing our resources from off campus, Murphy Library offers remote access to multiple electronic services on a password basis so that you can access Internet-based resources which are restricted to UW-La Crosse students, faculty and staff.
