THE WEB AND RESEARCH

In this module we will show you a few specific techniques that can turn you into an effective web searcher. But finding things is only part of the problem...the other part has to do with evaluating the information you've found.

Finding quality information on the web that you can use in your classes is certainly possible--but it often takes a little extra investigating to make sure the information is valid. After all, anyone can publish on the web...all it takes is an Internet account and a few basic computer skills. There is no editorial board and no criteria for getting published. So, you the user must supply the critical eye and evaluate everything you find.
