Location:

The Archaeology Center and Laboratories is located on East Ave. across from the Municipal Swimming Pool and behind UW-L Cartwright Center. Campus maps can be found at: http://www.uwlax.edu/campus-map/index.htm.

Hours:

The building may be closed on some days when all staff members are in the field. If open, usual building hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Please check in advance to ensure that the building will be open by calling 608‑785‑8463.

Artifact Identification
If you would like help identifying an artifact found in the Upper Mississippi River Valley or the Upper Midwest please e-mail Dr. Katherine Stevenson at kstevenson@uwlax.edu.  Include in your e-mail a description of the item, where it was found, and attach a picture of the artifact with a scale. Responses will be sent as soon as possible.  For help identifying artifacts found outside the Upper Midwest contact that state’s archaeologist.  A list of state archaeologists can be found on-line at: http://www.uiowa.edu/~osa/nasa/.
