Visit La Crosse’s Riverside Museum to see exhibits
pertaining to the city’s long history, from the area’s first inhabitants
over 10,000 years ago to life during the steamboat era.

Archaeology Center and Laboratories
Visit the laboratory facility to see exhibits of
many important finds from recent excavations and paintings depicting the
lifestyle of this area’s previous inhabitants. The building may be
closed on some days when all staff members are in the field. If
open, usual building hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.. Please check in advance to ensure that the building will be
open by calling 608‑785‑8454.

The Archaeology Center and Laboratories is located on East Ave. across
from the Municipal Swimming Pool and behind UW-L Cartwright Center. Campus

When visiting the Archaeology Center and Laboratories stop to see additional
displays outside 310 Wimberly Hall and in the Murphy Library Lobby.
