Wireless Network Windows XP Setup
These instructions assume your wireless card is already installed and has working drivers.
Click Start/Settings/Control Panel. Double click Network Connections. In the open Network Connections window right click on the Wireless Network Connection and choose properties. This should bring up Wireless Network Connection Properties tab with three tabs; choose Wireless Networks.

Click the Add button.

Fill in the
Association tab first by entering the SSID of UWLAN (upper case), choose WPA for Network Authentication and TKIP for Data encryption. If WPA is not a choice, you need to download
a new driver for your wireless card from the manufacturer (Contact the ITS

Choose Protected EAP (PEAP) from the drop down menu and make sure both boxes at the bottom are unchecked (the Authenticate boxes, as shown above). Click Properties…

Uncheck the “Validate server certificate” box and make sure Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected as the authentication method at the bottom. Click configure…

Uncheck the box “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password…” and click OK three times to come back to the Wireless Network Connection Properties tab as below.

Click the Advanced button in the lower right (not the Advanced tab at the top).
Choose “Access point (infrastructure) networks only” and click Close.
Click Ok. If the machine needs to be rebooted then allow a reboot, a balloon should appear in the lower right hand corner.
Click the balloon that says “click here to
select certificate or other logon credentials for connection to the network UWLAN”. If this does not happen please contact the

Enter your user name (8.4 email account), your password (****), domain (eagle) then
click OK.
Open a web page to test the connection.
