 Welcome
to the
Roncalli Newman Parish
The Catholic Parish at UW-L and WTC
Meet the new pastor
Fr.
James Kurzynski
hails from rural central
Wisconsin, attending the Tomorrow River Schools
in Amherst. He studied Applied Music
at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
and composition under Dr. Charles Lester Young.
He earned a B. A. in Applied Music in 1997.
Fr. Kurzynski then attended the University of
Nebraska at Kearney, where he studied Group
Counseling and worked as a Hall Director until
he discerned his call to the priesthood. Fr. Kurzynski left his counseling studies and
enrolled at the University of Saint Mary of the
Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois where he
earned a B. A. in Sacred Theology, a Master of
Divinity, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology.
He was ordained in 2003 and is currently the
Chaplain of Regis Middle School and High School
in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. An accomplished
composer, Fr. Kurzynski's music has been
arranged
for the Regis High School choir , for liturgical
use in parishes, and for the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops’ annual meetings.
Fr. James will join the Newman Community later
in June.
Join the Roncalli Newman Parish in welcoming Fr.
James to La Crosse as our new pastor.
