Your 2013 Orientation Assistants
Hello! My name is Nicole Meulemans, and I am one of your fantastic Orientation Assistants for the 2012-2013 school year. I am somewhere between five and six feet tall, so here are five to six interesting facts about myself: 1.) I was born in the magical land of Seymour, WI aka Home of the Hamburger. 2.) I am a Senior this year studying English Rhetoric and Writing. 3.) I love to play outside in La Crosse--especially on playgrounds during thunderstorms. 4.) I enjoy making ridiculous YouTube videos with my friends at UW-L (and they usually include choreographed dancing). 5.) I love being in La Crosse and have absolutely loved my time at UW-L. 6.) I am beyond excited to help you enjoy your UW-L experience! I hope you learn to love La Crosse as I have, maybe even making some of your favorite memories during NSO's Welcome Week!
Welcome Eagles ! My name is Rob Rydeski and
I am a 5th year senior studying Physical Education at UW-L. I
grew up in South Milwaukee, WI, go Rockets! But now I reside in
Franklin, WI. UW-L will always be a second home for me. With the
scenic bluffs to the east, Mississippi River to the west, and
UW-L right in the middle, it makes for an adventurous college
career. There is always a buzz in La Crosse, whether it be on
campus or within the community which is another reason why I
love going to school here. In your
time here at UW-La Crosse I encourage you to get out and see the
sights, get involved, and never stop exploring!
Ohh heyy!! My name is Sarah O’Brien and I am a sophomore here at UW-L. I am majoring in Communications and minoring in Photography and Business Administration. My hometown is Saline, Michigan (no I’m not a Yooper) but don’t worry I’m a diehard Packers fan. My parents graduated from UW-L, but that’s not why I came here. I wanted out of Michigan and when I came to La Crosse I felt home. UW-L has literally been the best decision I’ve ever made. The first few weeks are real crazy, trustme I was just in your shoes, but by attending activities around campus and getting involved helps so much and “Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but you’ve got questions, so ask me maybe?” but really just ask! By knowing literally no one when I came to UW-L, I got involved within days of setting foot on campus and I would never turn back. This past year I have made so many great lifelong friends and I can’t wait to see what this year will bring! Most of you are leaving the nest for the first time, but have no fear you are an Eagle now and you’re going to soar #punny. But seriously get out, get pumped, get involved, meet new people, because college is like nothing you’ve ever experienced and I hope you have a wonderful time at UW-L!
Hey everyone!
My name is Casey Kulinski. I’m a senior here at UW-L majoring in
Marketing and double minoring in communications and
international business. I love traveling and will be going to
Denmark this summer to study abroad, but don’t worry I am super
pumped to plan welcome week for you all. It’s going to be EPIC.
I’m sure you will quickly find that UW-L is an amazing place to
be and we are super glad you decided to spread your wings here
as an Eagle! If I was to give one piece of advice it would be to
not be afraid to get involved on campus!
There are so many opportunities for you to make a difference
here at UW-L! I recommend everyone checks out The Pearl off
campus for ice cream and Riverside Park as well! I picked UW-L
for its awesome views and friendly people and I’m sure you will
soon agree! As part of NSO I want to personally welcome you and
if you got #newstudentproblems, we are here to help!
