English as a Second Language (ESL) Undergraduate Graduate Exchange
Graduate Application Requirements
To apply for graduate international admission, please follow the steps below:
- Application: Complete an online application at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/.
- Fees: Submit the $56 Application Fee and $50 Processing Fee. Both fees are non-refundable and should be made payable in U.S. dollars to the “University of Wisconsin-La Crosse”. Please submit both fees in two payments by money orders, bank drafts, or U.S. checks.
- Academic Records: Official or officially-certified copies of academic records for all post-secondary education, whether or not the program was completed. This includes all transcripts, mark sheets, and national examination results. Academic records issued in languages other than English must be accompanied by official (school-issues or certified) literal English translations. Photocopies, scanned or notarized copies are not accepted as official documents.
*Applicants to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program with credentials from outside the U.S. must also submit a professional credential evaluation from the Educational Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org) or World Education Services (www.wes.org).

Proficiency:
In order to fulfill the English proficiency
requirement, you must submit an official
TOEFL score of at least 79 iBT or 550 pBT;
OR
an official IELTS score of at least 6.0.

- Program Specific Requirements: Some graduate programs may require additional information. Please contact your intended graduate program directly to inquire about any additional requirements they might have. Official GRE or GMAT (for the MBA program) scores are required by some graduate programs. You can find a list of the graduate programs offered at UW-L and links to their websites here: http://www.uwlax.edu/graduate/gradprograms.htm.
- Complete and submit the UW-L Background Information Form.
- Complete and submit a
Financial Certification Form with supporting bank statement.
Students seeking an F-1 visa are
required to provide proof of funding for at
least one year of study.
If you are admitted, these documents
will be required in order for us to issue an
I-20.
The minimum available amount that
must be shown for graduate students is
$28,546.

REMINDER: It is the student's responsibility to reserve/secure campus housing if admitted to UW-La Crosse. The Housing Reservation Form is available on-line. First semester incoming students will not be required to pay the $75 reservation fee. Those students returning to campus should communicate with the Office of Residence Life in order to reserve/secure housing.
