It is very important for you to know about Wisconsin weather. Winters can be very cold and temperatures can go below 0 °F. The house has a good heating system, so you do not have to worry about the cold inside. Once you are outside the house, dressing appropriately is most important for your health and well-being. Dress in layers, with a good winter coat on the outside. Also, wearing mittens or gloves, boots, a hat and a scarf will help protect exposed skin from the cold, and possible frostbite. A Wisconsin winter may last until April.

Fall is one of the most beautiful times to arrive in La Crosse. The leaves turn shades of amber and saffron. The average temperatures range from 50° to 70°F. Occasionally, fall temperatures are hot. There is a central air conditioning system in the house.

The Office of International Education wants to make your stay in La Crosse enjoyable. If there are any questions about the house, stop by the Office of International Education at 1209 Centennial Hall or call 608-785-8016.
