PERTH
On experiencing Perth’s wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and easy-going character, some travelers wonder, just where is everyone? While the lack of big-city bustle has something to do with Perth being the world’s most remote capital city, you won’t find the locals complaining about the lifestyle!

While Perth used to be characterized as rather dull, a resources boom has seen Perth blossom like Western Australia’s wildflowers in spring. Today it’s a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city with myriad bars, restaurants and cultural activities all vying for attention. But the best bit is that when you want to chill out, Perth’s pristine parkland and beaches allow the population to spread out and enjoy what’s on offer. After all, we are talking about a city that has its own dedicated dog beach (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/australia/western-australia/perth#ixzz2VpPQlMwR).

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Western Australia (WA) could be considered Australia's final frontier. It certainly makes a spectacular finale to what the country has to offer. ‘Up north’, you’ll encounter all manner of photogenic landscapes. There's stunning gorges and waterfalls at Karijini National Park, and flaming red sunsets on Cable Beach near the enigmatic pearling town of Broome. Meanwhile, tiny Coral Bay gives you protected white sand beaches and a reef full of marine life. The Southwest offers some equally impressive beaches, expanses of wildflowers and lush green forests teeming with life. At Margaret River, surfers carve world-class waves while vignerons craft world-class wines, complemented by the gourmet grub of the town’s restaurants.

Wherever you go, wildlife-watching opportunities are extraordinary. Spot the migrating whale pods off the coast of Albany, interact with dolphins at Monkey Mia, or simply enjoy the one-of-a-kind fauna that rules the russet-red outback. However, its not all fauna and flora. Perth and neighboring Fremantle are both cosmopolitan cities, yet retain a languorously laid-back feel, perhaps inspired by having so many fantastic beaches and parks on their doorstep.

And, to top it off, WA is big enough to really get lost in. The driving distances are mind-boggling, the terrain can be challenging and the elements often unforgiving. The rewards, however, are obvious – jump in and see it before everyone else does. (Lonely Planet).

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
The Australian academic year follows the Southern Hemisphere calendar starting in late-February and ending in mid-November. At Murdoch, as with all Australian universities, there is considerable emphasis on independent learning. You will be expected to participate in class discussions, expressing your own ideas and opinions. Self-motivation is a must because you will be expected to read widely, conduct individual research, and self-discover beyond the material presented in class.

Murdoch University offers over 200 undergraduate degrees and postgraduate courses across a range of disciplines including Veterinary Science, Law, Education, Psychology, Business, Security and Terrorism and Counterterrorism and Nursing.

At Murdoch the term “course” refers to a major, and the individual classes are called “units.” To search the list of available units, click here. In order to assist you in navigating this site, please read through the provided guide.

COURSE EQUIVALENCIES
The course equivalencies spreadsheets have been compiled from past approved Academic Plan forms. They show when the course was last approved and how it transferred back to La Crosse. You may notice that some classes satisfied several UW-L options.

This list is not comprehensive nor does it take the place of meeting with your advisor for final approval!
They are meant to be a guide of what courses may be appropriate for your studies abroad.
